Jack has 36 years of investment and markets experience, beginning his career with Hill Samuel in 1985. He has been with the business for 20 years, having joined M&G Investments in 2001 to help establish Prudential Capital, the in-house treasury and investment team of Prudential plc, and became its CEO in 2011. Between 20, Jack was group Treasurer of Prudential plc. Prior to his appointment as CIO in February 2019, Jack was Chief Investment Officer, Prudential UK, overseeing the management of the £178 billion With-Profits and annuity assets, and the investment capability behind the PruFund proposition. In addition to his CIO responsibilities, Jack leads M&G’s Asset Management business, as Managing Director. in Economics from Cambridge University.Īs Chief Investment Officer, Jack is responsible for the entire span of M&G plc’s investment capabilities, including the With-Profits Fund and equity, fixed income, multi asset, private and alternative asset strategies. He was also, until March 2022, a Senior Adviser at McKinsey & Company. After 17 years in financial regulation, Mr Adamson has been a Non-executive Director of Virgin Money plc and currently is the Chair of Ashmore Group plc, a Non-Executive Director of JP Morgan Securities plc, the Chair of JP Morgan Europe Ltd, which houses the new Chase UK digital banking business, and the Chair of Nutmeg Savings & Investments Limited. Mr Adamson then moved to the Financial Conduct Authority on its formation where he was Director of Supervision and an Executive Member of the Board. He then moved into regulation as an adviser at the Bank of England before being appointed as Director of Major UK Groups at the newly formed Financial Services Authority, a position he held during the financial crisis. Mr Adamson spent 20 years in wholesale banking initially with Citigroup and then with Bank of America where he held a number of senior positions including Regional Head of the UK and Northern Europe.
